Equator Advanced Appliances was founded in 1991 by Atul Vir with a clear mission: to bring premium appliance performance to people who live in smaller spaces. At a time when the appliance industry was focused entirely on larger homes, Equator saw an opportunity — millions of apartments, condos, RVs, and tiny homes that deserved better.
From Houston, Texas, the company built a product line centered on its signature washer-dryer combos — ventless, all-in-one units that could wash and dry without external venting, running on a standard 110V outlet. This was a breakthrough for apartment dwellers across America.
